Massachusetts Avenue.

There’s one in Washington, DC, and is home to many international embassies. There’s a Mass Ave in Indianapolis, Indiana; in fact there it’s an entire historic district. Mass Ave lends its name to an urban farming initiative in Buffalo, NY.

And in Massachusetts itself, it’s a thoroughfare about 15 miles long. It’s a stretch of road that runs from the battlefields of Lexington and Concord, through the tree-lined streets of Arlington,  twisting and turning past Harvard and MIT in Cambridge, all the way through Boston’s Back Bay, South End, and Dorchester neighborhoods.

This project aims to tell some of the stories of Mass Ave, MA.
